I love this design. The Tetris and Pacman reference is win . But yes, I'm torn on who should be holding that flag.
Lara is an icon, but maybe Ryu or Chun-Li, since both represent fighting games.
I love Grim Fandango, but only a few people in gaming know who he is, so he's not iconic enough. Maybe replace him with a Belmont from Castlevania, since that's an iconic series to use.
Third is Scorpion. I had no idea who he was until I read the comments. I don't think he's iconic enough for the pic. Maybe someone from Final Fantasy series maybe, for the RPG lovers out there.
Too much Nintendo love. You got Mario, Link, and a mushroom for a flag. You might want to choose with replacing one or the other to appeal for Solid Snake. AND put Sonic in there somewhere!
And the flag. Try replacing the mushroom symbol for the Pong game. I mean, Pong IS the first video game you know?
And work on making the characters visable. Great job.

Really like the idea, but a bit more distinction between the characters would help, considering the color tones.

Also, I don't think Scorpion and Lara Croft are iconic enough (and their heyday was over a decade ago).
Sonic is timeless, and everyone loves Solid Snake. Those two should be added in their place.

you should make scorpion more noticable, take out the grim reaper cause its just stupid, and take out lara croft, and add sonic the hedgehog, and possibly change the colours

I agree with the comments requesting switching Lara with Snake. I also agree with the one mentioning Sonic. If he was on here I'd deffo buy one, maybe two.

It's not mocking the 9/11 firefighters, it's a parody of "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima".

Not a bad idea, but something's off. The lack of definition is a biggie.

the thing putting me off buying this is the fact that it seems like a mocking image of the firemen of 9-11 putting up the american flag. maybe you didnt mean it in a negative way but thats just how see it..

Awesome! I love the not-so-obvious pac-man moon. Maybe change color scheme, like blue background and white foreground? Just a thought :)

As mentioned before, not all characters are perfectly visible since they seem to blend togeher. If you can work this out I'd love to buy at least one. Especially if you stick to this color scheme. Just loving it.

Agree with Lora on this one. It's a good idea, the characters just need to be cleaned up. There's too many of them in my opinion, and they're hard to see

Huge props for Manny from Grim Fandango, but this design has two flaws. First, the characters all blend together too much. I took me some time before I realized Link and Scorpion were even in the picture. More definition is needed to separate the characters. Perhaps variations of shading for depth. I actually love the colours and don't think switching to a wider palette would be a good idea. It works as it is, just needs more separation.

Second, which is a flaw with any montage really - is the character choice. You're not going to satisfy everyone and in most cases you're only going to satisfy yourself. Obviously some iconic characters have been left out, while some present others may not consider as iconic as ones missing. Regardless, the design is great - we just need to see the characters easier.

a different color scheme would be nice. if you colored the tetris blocks the same colors as in the game; then changed the background to a light color; and then turned all the characters pewter just like the real monument. just my 2 cents.

agree with many that more color contrast is needed. didnt even know Scorpion was in the picture till another comment mentioned someone behind Chief.

I'm sure Grim is probably one of the creators favorite games, since he's kind of an odd ball character to put on a shirt like this. But if Lara was Snake, and Grim or maybe even Scorpion was Freeman, I'd buy 2.

Ooo yeah I'd love it way more if it was Snake instead of Lara Croft. But for the love of Batman, make it the younger Snake! Not the old one!

And just like Andrew said, color variation would be a really, REALLY excellent idea. Even the entire color of the shirt. Who really likes to wear poo brown anyways?

There is a character behind Master Chief that I can't tell who it is. You can see a pair of skinny legs... If I had to guess -- Starfox? So the order would be this: Mario Bros, Halo, Starfox, Grim Fandango, Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, and Tomb Raider.
