DESCRIPTION

Jumping from a plane is easy. Dropping through a portal in the floor linked to another portal in the ceiling, and angling yourself so you can achieve terminal velocity is a hoot.

COMMENTS

The wording is off, but you'regetting closer. Don't give up. I like it though, it's awesome, always love a good portal joke.

Looks great! Love Portal. A quick suggestion: Maybe you could make it look like less copy and paste (the person)

i like the new style. Im not sure how much you would want to change it cuz I like it how it is, but I could maybe see the portal person 'diving' through the portals for the cake. just an idea

@Robert Kleinhans & Thomas Wilke: Good ideas. I'll make a new version by this weekend incorporating the suggestions. As for people who haven't played Portal not getting it with the new taglines, odds are they wouldn't have gotten it with the original ones either.

It's a clever tagline, shame so many people won't get it if they saw it. I'd buy it though ^^

How about "You live for the thrill / I live for the cake"? Sounds better if you're going for cake, imo.

Haha, I love it! I think "I love on the fringe." fits perfectly. What's not to get? I wouldn't wear it with "I live for the cake." because only 1 person I know has played Portal, and noone else would understand :P.

Like the design, clever reference and good design. only change i'd make would be putting the fringe bit on the back rather than the front. but this works too

"you live on the edge" "i live for the cake" thats my suggestion.

what about "you live on the edge" "i live for the cake". ? mind you that would confuse the crap out of people who havent played portal before, but would be hilarious for those who have.

"I live on the Aperature."

Great idea, anybody's who's played Portal would recognize the design, but the quote might need some work. Would buy otherwise.

I like the Fringe science reference, but then again, I'm also hooked on the show "Fringe." The whole design was good, I'd buy it as is or if you changed the text.

Eneybody who has played the game would get it just by looking at the portals. I would buy it as is.

Thanks for the opinions on the text. I'll give it some more thought and see what I can come up with.

Just from the words, I cannot tell that it is Portal. Change the words and I would recommend it to my friends.

It's a good idea, I'm just not certain I would wear it. The term "fringe", while accurate doesn't exactly scream portal, and I could easily see myself explaining that particular part to even portal enthusiasts. Apart from that I quite like it!

Wow, opening a parachute at terminal velocity IN a portal loop. That would be weird....

Yea I have to agree, the fringe part needs work.

While the idea itself is clever, and the presentation appropriate, I had to scroll down and read the description to understand the punchline. While I could gather that the design was derived from Portal, the tagline confused me, and I hate nothing more than explaining the shirt I'm wearing to several dozen people a day. Unfortunately, I can't seem to come up with a suitable alternative. My input is that the joke is too obscure, but could be made to work.

"I live on the fringe" is meant to apply to the fringe sciences, like teleportation. From Wikipedia: "Fringe science is scientific inquiry in an established field of study which departs significantly from mainstream or orthodox theories, and is classified in the "fringes" of a credible mainstream academic discipline." Also, people engaging in activities like skydiving are said to be living on the "edge". The "fringe" is a bit beyond that. From the dictionary: "the outer, marginal, or extreme part of an area, group, or sphere of activity". Which would be a greater rush? Dropping from a plane or looking down at yourself into infinity as you fall faster and faster? Edge

I really like this shirt and it's design but the Line "I live on the Fringe" just doesn't make me think of portal. If you could come up with something closer to the game for the wording I would say it's perfect. 8/10
