I thought it was a convoluted Brown Chicken Brown Cow joke. Perhaps a recolor?

Give the bell a bit more detail in it (lip for the bottom w/hardline or shading like you did the oar) and get the clanger a little bit lower then perhaps it will be more direct. :)

i think the bell gets lost, it should be another color i think... maybe the same as the M...
But i want it for my brother's skills...

Really great design. It took me a second to understand it. I would buy this.

Keep this as is. If people can't understand that it's an oar, then they probably wouldn't pick up the reference either. Make it and I'll buy it.

Thanks for the feedback,
William May: I'm a bit unsure of how I can make the Oar look distinctively like an Oar. I get the feeling that a lot of people if faced with a photograph of an oar wouldn't necessarily know that it ISN'T a paddle... Then again, isn't an Oar just a certain type of paddle? o_0
Now I'm just confusing myself...

I like it a lot, though I think it looks like a paddle now and not an oar... and Mpaddle Cowbell doesn't make any sense =P

I think it's a bit "dense", IYKWIM?
Maybe make some lines like in on the oar, or make it a bit slimmer... You could also make a hoop at the top, not just a knob.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback and suggestions.
As per rytthigar's suggestion, I've shrinked the M and enlarged the bell. I personally think it looks a lot better, but I'm a tad worried that the bell is now a bit big... any thoughts?

Really funny, and confusing to n00bs :D
Maybe enlarge the bell a little, and shrink the M? It's a little unbalanced, IMO

I'd buy this one, just to confuse the n00bs in real life :P

There we go,
I've made the oar a bit longer in the handle, and added the triangle tip, as suggested. I also changed the colour of the background slightly so that (hopefully) everything stands out just a little moar. <--pun.

Agreed, elongate the actual paddle and put the triangular handle part on the end of it and you've got a winner.

Great concept!
At first I thought the oar was a spatula, then a broom, then a fork, then spoon. If its paddle-end were more elongated it might help to recognize that it's an oar, or if it had more of a handle to it like a rowboat oar.
Just thinking out loud -- otherwise, great concept!
