I'm One Of Those Meddling Kids
DESCRIPTION
If your a recently escaped Scooby Doo villain, look out for someone wearing this t shirt. Background is easily changeable and having the logo bigger on the van is something I am thinking about. Comments?COMMENTS
Love the shadow version. Otherwise, I hate Scoob and the gang. Rates up there with the Flintstones as a show I disliked as a child.

i think it'd be funnier if the van just said "Meddling Kids" instead

I practically lived on Scooby Doo when I was growing up, I would defiantly get this shirt.

Seems to be a bit of misunderstanding
Purple for Girls
Green for Boys
Tye dye would look nice but that would increase the cost of making the T-shirt alot.

I think it's almost perfect! I agree that there needs to be a bit more color though. Maybe make the background tye-dye or something, but yeah I would totally buy this!

Very nice, I think it's pretty funny.
It describes me pretty well too.

I love it, but...what if bits of it fade? Having a van on your chest with 'I'M MEDDLING THOSE KIDS' would be hysterical but not a good idea...I thought it was 'pesky' kids anyway.

@ Anonymous: It does look a bit weird doesn't it, but that is how far the wheels were apart on my reference image from the early TV shows so I think I will keep them as is.

Thank you to everyone for your comments.
@ Angie: I personally like the silhouette design and it is a conscience decision rather than just avoiding copyright. I believe it makes the t-shirt stand out more. If I just did an exact copy of the Mystery Machine with the faces, blue colour of the van etc then people might not notice the writing is different. Also as I said previously in comments it is also a type of homage to the iPod style of black silhouette with a bold colour of and important part (In this case the hair). I don't think it is hard to tell the characters as there hairs are very different and easy to recognise, imo.
I have changed Shaggys hair, so thank you for pointing that out. Though on my reference image he does have orange hair the more modern Shaggy does have brown hair. I have changed Freds lapel a bit more red but not too much, I don't think it matters that it is more-a-less the same colour as Daphnes hair.

Go all-out and have the site's legal team worry about what they can and can't sell, and if there's a problem, maybe they will ask you to change something. If that's already happened and that's why you're sticking with the silhouettes instead of faces, then I guess you've just got to work with it and I don't know what to tell you. Otherwise, I'd suggest giving them faces.
One more thing: Shaggy's and Daphne's hair were not the same color. That part also confused me. Maybe the silhouettes wouldn't be such a big deal if there were four distinct hair colors. The other three are fine, but Shaggy has light brown hair, not orange. I think that would help in making him recognizable. Lastly, Fred's tie looks too much like Daphne's hair. I think making it more red and less orange would help that.
Overall, I really like the idea of the design, but it could use some tweaking. Keep up the good work!

I agree with Darcy that the silhouettes are annoying and confusing. I can tell after looking at it for a minute, but a smaller image of this or if you're looking at it from farther away make it so that you can't make out who they are easily.
Also, if you're going to worry about copyright, Scooby is already too recognizable. I may be wrong here, but isn't everything on this site a parody of something copyrighted and therefore protected under the satire/parody clause of copyright? This seems like the same kind of thing. I mean, like the mushroom tees and shirts involving characters, they're all trademarked or copyrighted or whatever, and yet they're still selling them. If you want silhouette for an artistic reason, then go ahead and try to make it work, but if fear of infringement is getting in the way of your creativity, then it's not going be as good a design as it could be.

I'm not sure why, but too me the wheels look like they are a tad too close to eachother.. Still a great design;D

SplitReason.com@Daniel: Thanks for the comment :). That was my fear of showing scoobys fur. But it looks better than no fur at all, I could maybe put some shades on him. I dunno if that would be appropriate though.

I know I'm a genius :P I believe that the beauty of art, music, and other such things, lies in the collaboration involved. 2 heads are better than 1, as they say (though, all of our heads together I don't believe we could discover just who "they" are).
It's great that we can all get involved with the designs on this website.
Thanks, and I look forward to buying this T :D

Thank you to everyone for your comments!
@K Safari: You are a genius, the blue window is a great touch! Pink and blue look good for the backgrounds, but for the image I have chosen Daphne Purple for the girls and Shaggy Green for the boys. Pink and blue also work well, most bright colours will work as a background. Just have to find the ones that will appeal to most people. Not forgetting the t-shirt doesn't have to be just two different colour shirts.

Let me add one more suggestion... yellow/pink background, but sky blue like the original version in the windows. Give it a go in Photoshop and see if you like it.

While I'm not a big fan of brown shirts in general... I love Scooby-Doo :) I grew up watching all the different show versions and movies, and I'd buy this.
I think it'd look pretty good on a pink shirt, for the ladies, and... maybe yellow for the mens? I think the T-Shirts should be bright colors, as that was the point of the 60's-70's.
Thanks

Good updates. I agree with you about the fur for Scooby being a tough decision -- have you thought about outlining/inlining him in brown? (basically swapping the black and brown for him) It likely won't work, but just wanted to suggest it.

Updated design based on your comments.
@ Frank: Yeah I wanted more to show it was Scooby, but I thought It might be too much to show his fur, but I think it actually looks good. And your not the only one to show dislike to the background, and though I love the blue, customer is always right so I have gone with a brown as orange clashed too much.
@Clint: Thanks =]
@Darcy: The silhouettes are there as like a iPod style thing, being able to tell the characters without a face and avoiding copyright. I think taking away the silhouettes leaves too much of a gap and takes away from the design.

interesting idea I think Scooby needs more colour if he's the thing with the pink tounge right? and it might work on a different coloured background imho, blue just doesnt mix with it... maybe bright orange or maroon?

haha. Nice presentation! :) I like the pseudo-Mystery-Machine. When I first saw the text-only version of this idea, I was a little worried that it wouldn't connect, but adding the van is a *perfect* way to get this across. Nicely done! :)

I gave it a 4, but the only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the silhouettes in the window are confusing and annoying. I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks that, but I think it would be better if they were removed.

Thats not a bad suggestion... some retro 70's looking flowers or something, just something subtle might really drive it home... not totally necessary, but could work out.

SplitReason.comIts good and its funny. Needs more colour though. The green and the orange is needed. Possibly a green pattern on the van and the writing in orange.
